Pisa hosts this unique exhibition of one of the greatest artist of the xx century featuring more than 200 works. The visitors can admire paintings, ceramics, sketches and designs, lithographs, watercolours, books and tapestries that show the undisputed genius of Picasso.

Coinciding with two dates, the Italian celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy and the coincidence of Mardi Gras with the March 8, International Women’s Day, the 2011 edition will stretch an extra weekend.
The event will close with a spectacular and quiet rowing race along the Grand Canal, which will be illuminated for the occasion only by candlelight, symbolic and evocative gesture of reunion with the city.

MAXXI National Museum of XXI Century Arts

Designed by Anglo-Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid, MAXXI National Museum of XXI Century Arts, is the first national museum of contemporary art and architecture in Rome.

Its innovative and spectacular design, built in Flaminio district, create an ideal space in which creativity is expressed by artists and architects.
The first exhibition of the permanent collection of the two museums, art and architecture, is called SPAZIO. It will host more than 300 works of art from Gerhard Richter, Andy Warhol Anish Kapoor.
