Situated in the heart of the baroque area of southern Sicily, Milizie is a newly built cottage which can be found in a charming area where old and new blend easily go together. When you open the door of the property you remain struck by the beauty of the Mediterranean gardens around the internal courtyard and the pool, which is immediately visible creating a colour scheme of great beauty and the façade of the ancient 18th century convent/fort, is of private use only for the guests of Milizie.
Next to Milizie is an ancient convent. This building has been converted into a private house which is rarely occupied, in both cases, only the guests of Milizie can use the private swimming pool and can enter the internal courtyard, totally privacy is absolutely garanteed.
Five years ago the owners built the cottage, Milizie, by the pool using construction materials in line with adjacent ancient building and equipped it with modern comforts. All the rooms have air conditioning, and are furnished with mainly light colours giving a new and fresh feel and an impression of relaxation on entering. The interior is spacious and completely open plan from the lounge to the kitchen and dining area. Via a large staircase you reach the attic floor where the bedrooms are situated.
The villa is only 3 minutes drive from the beautiful sandy beach of the village Donnalucata where there are shops and restaurants and a long seafront promenade to take enjoyable walks. From here it is possible to visit Noto, the capital of ‘Baroque Sicily’, along with Modica, Ragusa Ibla, Avola where the famous wine ‘Nero d’Avola’ is produced, Siracuse and its Greek ruins, Capo Passero and the Isola delle Correnti, the most southern point of Sicily where the Jonio and the Mediterranean seas meet.
