Only 2 kms from Urbino, the beautiful Renaissance town, full of cultural and historical interests, there is Villa San Martino, offering an excellent combination of comfort and historical characteristics. The property is a splendid antique residence, which has been recently transformed into a luxurious and charming villa. Originally from the 1200s, it was once used by the Duke of Urbino as his hunting residence and subsequently a convent. The villa is composed of a small sacred church that forms part of the central area of the villa, which has also been restored. Each of the various rooms of the villa have internal stone walls. On the ground floor there is a very large and luxurious living room, with beautiful doors from the 1500s painted in gold.  There is also a living room with an antique fireplace. The two bedrooms are original and unique in that they both have a wall decorated with frescoes from the 1300s. The villa is surrounded by an Italian garden of 5000 sqm within which is the swimming pool. Connected to the villa there is an area for dining, equipped with a double brick barbecue, two gazebos with large dining tables and chairs (one for 10 and one for 12 people) for eating outdoors.

Thanks for your message.

The Villa ceratainly lived uo to our expectations.
Well equiped except:
A few small points: only 2 small coffee percolators and small Kettle not suitable for 12 people.
Pool excellent
Cleaning & service excellent
Drain smells in TV room and some bedrooms upstairs.
The location is ideal for exploring the Beautifull countryside & not too far from the Beaches. However the Beaches and coastline are not too inspiring.

We enjoyed many of the local Restauants and found the Italian people warm & freindly.

Would thoroughly recommend Villa Martino to anyone wanting a beautiful quiet location. But not for the Beach lovers.

Delightful setting. Alessandro the caretaker was was absolutely marvellous!!
A fantastic holiday was had by all and we can't wait for next year!!
