All bookings are made with Home in Italy. Your signature on the booking
form shall be taken as your and your party’s acceptance of all of
the following conditions:

how to book:
1. booking form/deposit
Once you have selected your Home In Italy accommodation, you can phone us,
send us a fax or an e-mail. If the property requested is available we can
place a provisional booking for you and we will send you the Booking Form
by fax or e-mail together with a pro forma invoice. After receiving the
Booking Form filled out and signed, together with your credit card authorization
for the security deposit, we need to receive the payment of the deposit
within 2 working days to confirm the booking:
- Bookings made more than eight weeks (53 days) prior to the rental date,
you have to pay the 30% deposit within 2 working days (50% deposit for Villa
Praia).
- Bookings made eight or less than eight weeks (53 days) prior to the rental
date, you have to pay the full amount within 2 working days. No contract
will exist between us until we have received the required deposit and we
have issued our official confirmation invoice.
2. payment of the balance
The balance of the rental charge is due 8 weeks before your arrival date.
Failure to this payment will be treated as a cancellation and we will be
entitled to apply the cancellation charges as set out in paragraph 10.
3. late bookings
Late bookings are those made within 8 weeks of your arrival date. In that
case we must receive your Booking Form, completed and signed, together with
the full payment within two days of your order made by phone, fax or email.
4. methods of payment
deposit: you may pay by bank transfer or by credit card.
We do not accept Diners card, we accept VISA and MASTERCARD; please be aware
that if you pay with an AMERICAN EXPRESS credit card, your card will be
subject to a surcharge of 2,3%.
balance: by bank transfer only.
5. currency fluctuation
- For clients paying in UK sterling
We accept payment by cheque, credit card or bank transfer in UK Sterling.
- For clients paying in US dollar
We accept payment by bank transfer in US Dollar,
if you pay with
credit card you will be charged in Euros based upon our Euro price list.
6. credit card guarantee
The party leader must fill in and sign the credit card guarantee section
on the booking form. The card can be debited only for the following reasons:
· To settle cancellations fees
· To settle cancellation amendment fees for extra services (see section
'Our Services')
· To settle your final bill for services payable locally
· To deduct the amount of the security deposit to cover any damages
Please be aware there will be a 2% of surcharge to cover credit card commission.
7. accommodation voucher
Once the rental charge is fully settled and the Booking Form fully completed,
we send you the Accommodation voucher along with the Directions how to reach
the property and the useful contact telephone numbers.
8. security deposit
Together with your booking confirmation you are required to send us the
Security Deposit Form fully completed and signed, in order to cover possible
damage or loss in the property. The amount varies for each villa (please
check on the price list). Failure to sign this section can result in the
booking's cancellation. NO charges will be processed from the credit card
unless there are any damages made or services to be paid.
9. care of property
You are responsible for ensuring that, upon departure, the villa is left
in the same condition of cleanliness and repair as found upon arrival. Any
loss or damage caused by your failure to respect fixtures or fittings will
be deducted by the owner from your security deposit. If you are aware of
any damages, please notify the caretaker immediately so that necessary repairs
can be made. If damages are identified by you and the caretaker during the
final inspection of the property you will be expected to pay for the repairs
upon departure. If the caretaker is unable to obtain an estimate, this should
be notified to us as quickly as possible and we will debit your credit card
for the amount showed on the repairs' receipts. In the event of a disagreement
between you and the caretaker regarding the extent of the damage please
call our Help Line (details are stated in the accommodation voucher) immediately.
10. cancellation by the client
Based upon the date on which we receive written notification of a cancellation
by you for any part of your booking, or the booking being cancelled by us
due to non-payment, the following charges shall apply:
- Cancellation received 8 weeks or more before the arrival date: charge
of the 30% (deposit already paid to confirm the booking), charge of the
50% for the booking of Villa Praia (deposit already paid to confirm the
booking).
- Cancellation received less than 8 weeks prior to the arrival date: charge
of 100% of the total due. The above cancellation charges apply to the property
rental only. Cancellation charges for travel arrangements will depend on
the conditions of the Agencies used.
11. alteration & cancellation by the company
Although it is highly unlikely that we will have to make any changes to
confirmed arrangements, it does occasionally happen, and we will advise
our clients at the earliest possible date. If for any reason beyond our
control we are unable to provide you with the property you have booked,
we reserve the right to transfer you to a similar property. If the cost
is less than your original booking then you will receive a refund. If, however,
the cost is more, then, upon your acceptance, you will have to pay the difference.
However, if this is not possible or you do not wish to be transferred, we
will cancel the booking and refund the full amount paid to us for the property,
but we shall not in such circumstances be liable for any compensation, damages,
cancellation charges for travel or other arrangements whatsoever.
12. brochure information
The utmost care has been taken to provide accurate information on our catalogue.
However, proprietors do sometimes make changes and all references to the
condition of the property or services must not be taken as statements of
fact but as statements of opinion.
13. responsibility of the company
All due care and attention has been given to making your holiday arrangements,
but since we do not personally own the villas, we cannot accept responsibility
for the breakdown of the water, gas and electricity supply, telephone, quality
of roads, scorched lawns due to excessive sun, or the failure of swimming
pool filter systems. Although we will make every endeavour to rectify and
solve any problems as soon as possible, we have no legal responsibility
to compensate you for any personal injury, death, loss or damage of whatever
nature suffered by you or by any member of your party.
14. insurance
All clients must be insured against holidays risks. Your signature on the
booking form is a declaration that you have a travel insurance and cancellation
cover. On the Booking Form you have to include the name and address of the
insurance company and the policy number.
15. arrival & departure times
Arrival is normally scheduled on Saturday between 4pm and 7pm. Should clients
be unable to arrive between these times, they must let us know as soon as
possible. For late arrivals the owners may charge for the extra waiting
time involved. You must ask us in writing in advance if the caretaker or
the key holder, who lets you into the property is going to be able to arrange
your access to the property after 7 pm. We are unable to guarantee access
to any of our properties if you arrive later than 10.30 pm. Departure is
normally scheduled on Saturday between 9 and 10 am. The key holder shall
inspect the property. You will be required to settle in cash any extra services
that you might have used or requested during your stay, such as heating,
telephone, cook or shopping service, extra cleaning. No credit cards are
accepted.
16. complaints
Should you have any problems during your stay you should contact us immediately.
Failure to do so may reduce your right to compensation. Please note that
if the property is abandoned without any notice to Home in Italy all rights
to compensation are lost. Please note that we can be contacted from Monday
to Friday, 9am to 6pm English time on our office numbers, or at other times
on our cellular phones. You will find the relevant phone numbers on your
accommodation voucher. Please note you have one week after your departure
to send a written complaint that is necessary to open the proper procedure,
failure to do this will exclude your right to compensation.
17. size of party/maximum occupancy
Property Owners reserve the right to refuse admittance if the number of
persons arriving exceeds the number on the booking form or the maximum number
the property can sleep, as set out in the relevant brochure description,
except in the case of infants under two years old in a cot. The cot has
to be requested on the booking form. Caravans and tents are not permitted
on the property under any circumstances. Should the key holder/H.I.I. representative
discover any additional occupants, clients will be asked to vacate the villa
and no refund of the rental charge will be given.
18. law and jurisdiction
For UK clients, your contract with us is governed by English Law and comes
under the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
For clients coming from all the other countries, your contract with us is
governed by Italian Law and comes under the exclusive jurisdiction of the
Italian Courts.
19. force majeure and significant changes
Home In Italy is not liable and does not authorise any refunds for the following
events: Acts of God (including fire, flood, earthquake, storm, hurricane
or other natural disaster), war, invasion, acts of foreign enemies, hostilities
(regardless of whether war is declared), civil war, rebellion, revolution,
insurrection, military or usurped power or confiscation, terrorist activities,
nationalization, government sanction, blockage, embargo, labor dispute,
strike, lockout or interruption or failure of utilities, nuclear disaster,
epidemics, quarantine, technical or administrative problems with transport
or any other occurrences beyond our immediate control and which, despite
all due care being taken, could not have been avoided.
20. letting period
The normal minimum letting period for the villas and apartments is one week
from Saturday to Saturday and there are no surcharges for one week only
rentals. However, on request it is also possible to arrive and depart on
different days.
21. electricity, water, heating
Electricity there is a limit of 330kw on the weekly amount of free electricity
with some exceptions. All electricity used above this amount can cost up
to € 0.70 for 1kw and has to be paid locally. Circuit breakers are
installed in Italy which can cut off the supply of electricity, if too many
appliances are used at the same time. Waterand tap water are included in
the price due to the long summers, water shortages do occur. Please use
water sparingly. Heating and Hot-tubs are extras, charged by consumption
or by a daily fixed charge and have to be paid locally.
22. travel agencies
Travel Agents must fill in all the documents as requested to direct clients:
Booking Form and Security Deposit by credit Card.
23. cancellation/amendement fees for extra services
Should you wish to cancel or amend any of the extra services that you have
booked please do so at least 15 days before the first day of your rental
by sending us a fax or an email. Failure to do so will result in cancellation/amendment
charges being applied and charged to the credit card as stated on the section
'Our
Services'.
