
In the northern part of Umbria you can find the beautiful medieval towns of Gubbio, Montone, Preggio, Umbertide and just across the Umbrian border you will find Cortona in Tuscany. All these villages are within easy reach of: villa Arcelle, villa Calesa, villa Casa Lazzari, villa Casella, villa Cataccio, cottage Casa Riccio, villa Salicotta and villa Sanbucaia.
In the central part of Umbria you will find the capital of the province, Perugia, where it is possible to enjoy the Italian art, from the Etruscan period until nowadays, in the museum of modern art in Palazzo Penna. Every year in July, Perugia hosts the Umbria Jazz Festival, one of the most important jazz festivals in the world. The entire historical centre becomes a melting pot of music, history and architecture. Perugia is easy to reach from our properties I Palazzi, I Palazzi Casale and from villa Solido.
Deruta is a town worth visiting, close to Perugia and renowned for its exquisite hand painted ceramics which are exported worldwide. To have the change to explore this town, you could rent the fabulous Castello della Dama which is just a couple of minutes away from Deruta.
In southern Umbria you can find Todi, with the splendid Piazza del Popolo and the 12th-16th century cathedral, the town centre is very close from our Umbrian villas: villa Casa Degli Artisti, villa Felò, villa La Stalla, villa Manoquercia, villa Poggio Del Cerro, villa Torretta, villa Troscione, Villa Di Vibio and Villa Monti. Quite close to Todi, you can find another jewel of Umbria, the medieval town Orvieto, which rises up a hilltop with its unique gothic cathedral. Easy to reach from the following villas in Umbria: villa Calamaio, villa Carpi, villa Lupaccia, villa Melograni, villa Poilio, villa Ubaldo, villa Vallefalcone, villa Vigna and villa Virgoletta.
Villa Castellina, in the southern part of Umbria, is close to Spoleto, renowned
for the festivals of the Two Worlds and the medieval town of Trevi with its
Gothic and Romanesque churches overlooking the valley from the top of the
hill, which is covered by olive trees.
