The renovation of this ancient and valuable large Italian villa rental on the Tuscan/Umbrian border has been carried out fully respecting the original beauty and structure, carefully bringing out the most significant characteristics; the beautiful mottled stone and round arches. Terra-cotta floor tiles, oak-beam ceilings, rustic antiques, and bare stone walls create the finest country rustic effect with city-elegant furnishings and completely modern kitchens and bathrooms.
Set among the landscape that has formed the background to so many paintings, La Sommità radiates from every view a picture of harmony and beauty.
Indeed, this is a special place for special people who appreciate the mystic atmosphere of the countryside. It is a place to relax by the pool or under the cypress trees, play tennis, or enjoy a sauna.
La Sommita’ is also a centre from which you can visit the most interesting cultural and religious spots of Italy, such as Assisi, Gubbio, Spoleto, Orvieto, and Arezzo, all of which are a short drive away.
Guests of the La Sommità are lodged in 5 beautifully decorated, spacious stone houses, two of which, the Cottage and Limonaia (Lemon House), stand on the hill below the old chapel, looking out over the valley. The other three, Olivi (Olives), Cipressi (Cypresses), and Ginestra (Broom Flower) are located among the stone farm buildings and face each other across a piazza alive with colourful flowers.
All houses have quality furnishings and the kitchens are fully equipped with all modern amenities, i.e., dishwasher, washing machine, satellite and local television, and a separate telephone line with a meter.

La Sommità makes a unique location for a small family event or other important occasions.
For these special groups:

This property is part of the clubhouse and ends up in the Tower of the property. It doesn’t have its own kitchen and living room, but guests can use the living room of the clubhouse and also dine there at an extra cost (for a minimum of 6 guests) or use the kitchen of one of the other properties.

the whole property can accommodate up to 26 guests. Only for small events, it is possible to rent the Chapel to accommodate a maximum of 30 people. The 2 double rooms in the Chapel do not have air conditioning, however, they are cool because of their thick walls.
Pets not allowed. At the clubhouse, it is possible to have lunch or dinner, booked in advance.
Wood for the fireplace available at extra cost. Extra single beds and cots on request upon extra cost. In the Borgo, there is a private house on the old Chapel side, owned by a single American man who comes once or twice a year, alone or with a few friends, privacy is guaranteed. Tennis court on the property shared with other villas in the neighbourhood.
