Once an olive press used by villagers to press their yearly harvest, Fratino is now a luxury Italian holiday villa available for weekly rentals, surrounded by the same beautiful terraced olive groves. Located near the medieval walled town of Lucca in Tuscany, its recent renovation has converted this charming structure into a comfortable exclusive home offering views across the swimming pool and down the valley towards the town.
Inside, Fratino has maintained its rustic character, with original terra-cotta tiles and wooden beamed ceilings throughout.
On the first floor, there is a fully equipped Tuscan kitchen with a dining area, and a spacious lounge with sofas and armchairs, a music system and satellite TV and internet access. On the second floor, there are four bedrooms, each with its own brand-new en suite bathroom. For alfresco dining, a wrought-iron table and chairs with large umbrellas are placed on the lawns, allowing guests to dine while watching the sunset over the valley and Lucca beyond. The fortified town of Lucca is set amongst wine and olive groves in the green hills of Tuscany. It makes a good day trip from Pisa or Florence and has been beautifully preserved, with tall houses and palazzos laid out on a Roman grid, handsome fortifications, pretty squares and Romanesque churches. In Lucca, there are some excellent restaurants.

"Very comfortable nice sized room in villa with pool on beautiful estate 15 minute drive from Lucca and 30 minutes from Pisa. Lovely grounds with lemon trees and fabulous views from rooms. Property manager and household staff were friendly, efficient and responsive. Very helpful with suggestions for restaurants and getting around locally. Home in Italy was so helpful with information and always got back to us promptly. Terrific property for a family or friends group getaway. "
