This 3-bedroom Italian luxury apartment for rent is part of a fascinating medieval hamlet called la Sommità, set on a hilly position in Umbria, at the Tuscany border.
Even though today is an exclusive holiday rental accommodation, little has changed at La Sommità in the last 600 years. The private deluxe hamlet provides 5 units. Two of them are separate cottages, with a private garden area, while the other two are apartments located in the main house.
The renovation of this very old and valuable estate has been carried out fully respecting the original beauty and structure, carefully bringing out the most significant characteristics; the beautiful mottled stone and round arches. Terra-cotta floor tiles, oak-beam ceilings, rustic antiques and bare stone walls create the finest country rustic effect with city-elegant furnishings and completely modern kitchens and bathrooms.
Set among the landscape which has formed the background to so many paintings, La Sommità radiates from every view a picture of harmony and beauty.
Indeed, this is a special place for special people who appreciate the mystic atmosphere of the countryside. It is a place to relax by the pool or under the cypress trees, to play tennis or enjoy a sauna.
La Sommità is also a centre from which you can visit the most interesting cultural and religious spots of Italy such as Assisi, Gubbio, Spoleto, Orvieto, Arezzo, all of which are a short drive away.
Guests of the La Sommità are lodged in 5 beautifully decorated, spacious stone houses, two of which, the Cottage and Limonaia (Lemon House), stand on the hill below the old chapel, looking out over the valley. The other three, Olivi (Olives), Cipressi (Cypresses), and Ginestra (Broom Flower) are located among the stone farm buildings and face each other across a piazza alive with colourful flowers.
All houses have quality furnishings and the kitchens are fully equipped with all modern amenities, i.e., dishwasher, washing machine, satellite and local television, cd player, and a separate telephone line with a meter. With private access in the suggestive hamlet’s courtyard, Cipressi is an elegant and spacious 270m2 apartment on 2 levels connected by an imposing marble staircase. The house boasts gorgeous views from each window.

Cipressi shares with another apartment (Olivi) an area in the shady, ivy-covered courtyard furnished with 2 round tables for 6 or guests can sit in the large park a few steps from the apartment.
