Amidst the natural beauty of Tuscany, this luxury vacation villa for rent is set in the heart of Chianti, midway between Siena and Florence.
Beautifully furnished in a modern way, Castelio preserves the original charm of an antique farmhouse, offering a cosy accommodation for twelve guests. Perfect for families with children or for a group of friends, this lovely villa features a great number of facilities such as a private heated swimming pool, a gym, a steam room and a kids' playground.
From the swimming pool, set in a dominating position, is possible to enjoy sweeping views over the surrounding hills and indulge in moments of maximum relaxation.
Composed of the main villa, an apartment and a guest house situated close to one another, Castelio features seven bedrooms with spacious en-suite bathrooms, four of which are located in the main villa.
You can enjoy your holiday entirely at your own pace at villa Castelio. The outdoor loggia makes it the perfect spot where to indulge in delectable Italian al fresco meals, BBQ or pizza nights or opt for a chef service for the ultimate indulgence.
The property is surrounded by four hectares of private land dotted by vineyards and olive trees. The villa is part of a bigger private estate of twelve hectares where villa Pratomaggio is located, the neighbouring vacation villa boasting the same high standards. Pratomaggio can be rented together with Castelio hosting a maximum of eighteen/twenty-four guests in twelve bedrooms.The nearest village, Radda in Chianti, is a charming medieval town with all the amenities including trattorias, restaurants, shops and wineries. Set between vineyards and rolling hills, this delightful, rustic Italian holiday villa dominates Radda in Chianti toward the valley.
The Chianti area, in which Castelio is situated, is a wine region that is the romanticized Italy of daydreams, world-famous for its exceptional food, wine and beautiful landscapes.
This family-friendly villa is located within easy reach to a number of charming hilltop medieval villages to explore: Radda is the closest at only three kilometres from the villa, then Castellina, Greve and Gaiole in Chianti, all lovely spots where to find good trattorias, wineries and a holiday atmosphere immersed in the authenticity of slow pace Italian life. Siena, Florence and San Gimignano are also located within an easy drive. For sports enthusiasts, the surrounding area offers pleasant trails in the countryside, especially recommended for bikers.

We rented a villa in Tuscany through Home in Italy that vastly exceeded our expectations. The website made it easy to zero in on our top candidates and the booking process was relatively easy. We arranged a cooking class at the villa as well as a day-long wine tasting day run by a local sommelier. All fantastic.

When I say the villa exceeded expectations, I say that, realizing that, so often, when you see pictures of accommodations, what you find is that the photos have made the place look better than it actually is. In the case of Castelio, the opposite is true - the villa was even better than we had imagined when we rented it. When our GPS brought us to the location, I thought that the entry gates must be for somewhere else and couldn’t possibly be the place I had rented. Every aspect of the villa worked perfectly. Throughout the stay, the staff were outstanding in every dimension. The food was, at all times, excellent. The cooking class we had booked early in the week was excellent and fun. The welcome dinner was perfect and the daily breakfast service proved to be yet another highlight.

If visiting the area again, I would not hesitate to use Home in Italy.
