Sicily is wonderful to visit in summer or late spring, but who said it isn't marvelous even in autumn?
In this season, this charming region is still splendid with a warm climate that seems impossible in other parts of Italy, where you can also take a bath in the transparent sea. Sicily with its fish dishes, its wine, hospitality and sun is the perfect destination for your off-season holidays.

There are many cities that can be visited: Catania, Palermo, Trapani, Ragusa, but also Favignana, Modica, Syracuse, Agrigento, Marsala and so on. Each city is characteristic and known to those who love to get lost among the baroque centers, the fragrant wines, the red earth.
Here we list 5 of the most beautiful destinations to visit during this period:

1. Trapani
An elegant city with squares and very clean and white streets. Trapani is by far one of the most visited cities in Sicily. One of the things to do once you arrive in Trapani, after seeing its beautiful city center, is to take a trip to Erice. We recommend bringing a jacket because usually the city is very windy with its 751 meters above sea level. In Erice do not forget to buy some sweets from Maria Grammatico’s shop, you will love it!

2. Favignana Island
This enchanting island can be reached by ferry starting from Trapani, and welcomes all its guests with incredible coves. If you wish to avoid the crowds of August, September and October are the perfect months, to also enjoy the wild nature of this corner of paradise in complete tranquility.

3. Palermo
Palermo and its wonderful markets, as well as its street food, are unique in all seasons. In autumn, the desire to taste more demanding dishes, such as "ca 'meusa" bread, "sfincione", "panelle", "stigghiola" and many others, could be more suitable for the climate and the period. Palermo is a lively city that offers a lot of color and folklore.

4. Catania
The Sicilian Baroque city par excellence, Catania is full of clubs and pubs; here in the evening the city comes alive and in autumn, with the resumption of schools and universities, young people fill the streets with their liveliness. The historic center is teeming with music, cocktails and fun. And if you wish to alternate fun with hiking, the nearby Etna volcano can satisfy your desires.

5. Ragusa
Here we are in Ragusa and Ragusa Ibla, two exceptional jewels located in the south of Sicily. In Ragusa, the weather is gentle even in October and welcomes all visitors with enchanting days, ideal for exploring the historic center. If you are a sweet tooth, we recommend you take a trip to Modica, which is located just 30 minutes from Ragusa, where you can enjoy one of the best and most intense chocolates in all of Italy: the Antica Dolceria Bonajuto. On the official website, you can also find the times and days when you can visit the laboratory; it is a real show!
